Andre Lukatsky leads the technical side of accessibility evaluations, conducts low vision and keyboard testing, and delivers accessibility advice and training. As a senior member of the TFA team, Andre has conducted accessibility trainings and executed numerous accessibility evaluation and development projects, spanning desktop, online, and mobile platforms.
Andre has over 20 years of experience in accessible information technology and associated standards and best practices. His extensive design and development expertise in accessible web and software applications for industries such as Education, Publishing, Transportation, Online Retail, and Food Service allows him to dive deep into our clients’ systems and propose efficient remediation and accessible development strategies. Outside of his Tech For All responsibilities, Andre is the Chief Technology Officer at Hadley, which creates personalized learning opportunities that empower people to thrive — at home, at work and in their communities, and has a long history of delivering educational and technological advances to support people with blindness. At Hadley, Andre develops accessible distance education frameworks for blind and visually impaired learners, and implements technology solutions for users with disabilities.
Staying abreast of the constantly changing accessibility standards and best practices is Andre’s top priority. His in-depth knowledge of implementation patterns for accessible interfaces allows him to provide targeted advice for our clients. Andre likes to say that he “reads WCAG for fun,” and it’s true – knowing the standards like the back of his hand is invaluable in giving appropriate advice for accessibility remediation, design, and development. His motto is “it has to be accessible and usable” – it’s not enough to complete a checklist or pass “compliance” testing – it must also be fully usable by all potential audiences.
Andre is a graduate of Illinois Institute of Technology with a BS in Computer Science.
